Chapter 489
Chapter 489:
In that crucial moment, Henrik placed his full trust in Khloe’s instructions. His training in precision shooting and
quick reflexes, honed over years of dangerous encounters, cinto play as he aimed his gun at the swiftly
moving bomb.
The sound of a gunshot echoed sharply, and the bullet, swift as a flash of lightning, precisely hit the bomb’s
power node.
As the bomb hovered overhead, the successful shot triggered a faint electrical buzz, and the bomb’s light went
out, rendering it a harmless chunk of metal that fell to the ground.
The scar-faced man watched in dismay and fear as his deadly plan was neutralized at such a critical moment.
Taking advantage of his enemy’s astonishment, Henrik advanced and delivered a powerful kick to the man’s
stomach, sending him sprawling several meters back.
As the man lay on the ground, bleeding and unconscious, Henrik approached and finished him off with a gunshot

Relieved at the elimination of the threat, Khloe let out a sigh of relief, while Henrik felt a sense of release from
the tension.
Intent on not being a burden to Henrik, Khloe silently contemplated their situation, her expression thoughtful.
Suddenly, she felt a gentle warmth as Henrik draped his shirt over her shoulders.
Realizing then that her clothes were undone, she quickly buttoned up and adjusted her attire.
With Khloe looking composed once more, Henrik asked, “Can you continue? If not, we can leave this place now.
Once we're safe, | promise to make them pay dearly for what they've done.”
Khloe nodded, then paused, shaking her head decisively. “Leaving now would make them harder to track down
later. There are just too many unknowns. The shock just now was a jolt to my system, helping counteract the
drug. I'll manage, just make sure you handle them soon.”
Observing her, Henrik could see the redness still staining Khloe’s cheeks, yet her eyes appeared much clearer,
no longer clouded as they had been moments earlier. Clearly, she was recovering. He positioned himself at the
opposite end of the corridor, awaiting the return of the others.

Back at their earlier location, Felix and his group, alerted by the sound of gunfire, rushed back. Their footsteps
grew louder as they neared. Seizing a heavier firearm he had acquired from the scar-faced man, Henrik braced
himself at the entrance of the passage.
Without hesitation, he fired, incapacitating each of the three men with precise shots, leaving them to writhe in
pain on the ground.
Henrik approached the incapacitated men with a cold, merciless stride, his expression one of stern cruelty and
absolute authority. He paused by one, crouched, and forcefully lifted Felix’s face with the butt of his gun. His tone
was low and menacing as he said, “Who sent you?”
Felix clenched his teeth against the pain and glared defiantly at Henrik. “You'd better release me! I'm here on
behalf of the Evans family. Their eldest daughter—she’s engaged to Henrik Watson! Surely, you wouldn't want to
cross someone of his stature, would you?”
Khloe suppressed a chuckle at the irony of the situation. What a day of strange twists—an imposter claiming to
be Magician's student and now this man, threatening Henrik with his own identity.

playing a dangerous game!”
As soon as Henrik finished talking, he stood up and slammed his foot down on Felix’s injured leg. The scream
that followed cut through the silence, sharp and gut-wrenching. Henrik didn’t even flinch, his expression cold and
unbothered as the sickening crunch of breaking bones filled the air.
“Let’s try this again. Who sent you?” Henrik’s tone was steady, almost detached, as though Felix’s pain had
nothing to do with him.
