Emma’d never experienced the hardships of the working class, but she'd witnessed enough to know she didn’t
want that life. She'd seen people working tirelessly, living paycheck to paycheck, and constantly at the mercy of
others. It was a life she wanted to avoid at all costs.
When Scott had cto take them in, she hadn't hesitated. She'd chosen him, knowing he was her path to
success. As for Bella, she had never shown much drive or ambition. Emma would never allow herself to depend
on her uncle just like Bella.
But as Scott noticed her greed and joy, a flicker of disdain crossed his face-gone in an instant. ‘Foolish girl, he
thought. “That's just splacebo. You really believe I'd hand over my life's work to you?
I work so hard to build this empire; I'll never let it fall into the hands of an outsider. I'm still young and | can
handle this. And later, | can get a son, perhaps someone with my name, my ambition. But you? Never.
But for now, all of that is on hold. I’ve got more pressing matters to deal with. If | can’t resolve the current
situation smoothly,’ Scott thought with a cold, inward sneer, ‘all my hard work and achievements might end up
being for nothing!
“Make yourself presentable,” he said and tossed over his shoulder, disappearing into the house.
Emma stared after him, her resolve hardening with a nod. This was her chance. She'd dazzle the client, prove
her worth, and secure her place at the top. “I won't let you down, Dad,” she vowed.
Lost in the promise of a brighter future, Emma was completely wrapped up in the grand life she imagined ahead.
She was too blinded to see through Scott's words. For now, she had no other choice anyway.
At 7 PM, Emma swept into the hotel, her arm looped through Scott's, the fabric of her elegant gown rustling
softly. But the moment they crossed the threshold, she frowned and thought, ‘This should be a business meeting,
no? Why here in a hotel‘?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe shot Scott a puzzled look, raising an eyebrow. “Dad, we're supposed to meet a client, right? So why are we
at a hotel?”
“Our client's here,” Scott said, his voice clipped. “Just keep your cool and don’t blow this.”
A shiver ran down Emma’s spine as suspicion gnawed at her. She trailed Scott to the penthouse suite, her mind
racing. ‘Is he planning to handover?”
The thought left her breathless. She stole a glance at Scott, her eyes flickering with dread. ‘How could | be so
gullible? | believed he'd lettake the reins of his business. Now it feels like a setup, a trap I've walked into
blind.
She stared at Scott, her heart hammering. The man she’d called “dad” for eighteen years-could he really do
this? She didn’t stop him from ringing the bell. She needed to see if her worst fears were true.
The bell chimed, and Emma squeezed her eyes shut, her pulse racing. She heard the door creak open and forced
herself to look, praying this was all a mistake.
However, there stood a middle-aged man, his bald head gleaming, and his gut straining against his shirt. The
moment he spoke, a wave of stale smoke and booze hit her, making her stomach lurch.
The last tshe'd felt this cornered was in a hotel, when Elysia had lured her into a trap. And now, it seemed
Scott was playing the sgame.
The man was Dennis. His eyes lit up as he sized Emma up.
“Mr. Ludwig, this is my daughter, Emma,” Scott said, his tone smooth.
Dennis waved him off. “Scott, now that you've brought her, why don’t you beat it? I've got things to do.”

Dennis reached for Emma's arm, but she yanked it back, her heart pounding. Dennis's face darkened, and he
shot Scott a glare. “Scott, what's the problem here?”
“Mr. Ludwig, she’s just shy, Scott said, grabbing Emma's wrist. But instead of shoving her toward Dennis, he
hesitated. “Mr. Ludwig, about that money you promised...
“You'll get it when the deal’s done. You trust me, right?” Dennis said, his impatience clear.
“Of course, Mr. Ludwig. | trust you completely, Scott said, finally pushing Emma toward Dennis. “Emma, please
Mr. Ludwig”
Emma’s chest tightened as Dennis's meaty hand clamped down on her arm, his grip bruising. Panic surged
through her. She watched Scott turn to leave, tears blurring her vision. “Dad, I'll do anything! Please don’t leave
But Scott didn’t even glance back. He walked away, his footsteps fading. Emma's last sliver of hope dissolved,
leaving her alone with Dennis, trapped in a nightmare she couldn't wake from.
Dennis held Emma tightly, and her movements only seemed to fuel his desire. With a strong grip, he picked her
up and kicked the door shut behind them. In the bedroom, he threw the squirming beauty onto the bed, ready to
make his move.
Tears slid down Emma's checks, and she realized that doing nothing would be her downfall. She wiped away her
tears, looked into Dennis's eyes, and tried her best to hide her fear. “Mr. Ludwig, no need to rush... I'm all yours
tonight.”
Emma’s change in tone and attitude, especially her soft and gentle voice, made Dennis's heart leap with joy, and
he immediately smiled.
Seeing his expression soften, Emma gave a sweet smile. “Mr. Ludwig, | just got back from Shecrity and haven't
had a shower yet. They dressedin these clothes and broughthere. | hope | don’t smell bad and offend
you.”
Dennis, intrigued, let his hand slide over her lovely and enchanting face. “So you're suggesting a shower, honey?
Would you liketo join you?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“No need, Mr. Ludwig. I'll be out soon after | freshen up. I'll be lying here obediently, ready for you. Are you
worried | might run away?” she smiled.
“I've always been a sucker for beautiful women,” Dennis said with a grin. “Go ahead and take your bath, darling.
We've got plenty of tlater.” As he spoke, Dennis couldn't resist giving Emma a firm squeeze on her bottom.
Emma fought back her nausea and hurried to the bathroom. She turned on the shower and fumbled for her
phone. While debating who to call, she saw Robert's nin her contacts.
Without thinking twice, she dialed him. The phone kept ringing with no answer, and her anxiety grew. She prayed
that Robert would pick up, but it seemed like fate was against her, as the call went unanswered.
She had no choice but to keep trying, as she couldn't think of anyone else besides Robert to call. Natalie? Mia?
They wouldn't be of any help in a situation like this.
