Hearing Yuna's words, Elysia was really surprised. She'd thought Emma was Bella's kid with slover, but it

was totally different. Elysia was eager to see Emma's reaction after she knew the truth.

While she was thinking, Alyce rushed in, looking kind of flustered. “What's up?” Elysia raised an eyebrow at her.

Alyce was usually so calm, never this worked up.

Alyce replied in a hurry, “Something’s wrong. Your seniors are here.”

Elysia was total in charge of the Arcanum House. When Elysia heard Alyce’s answer, she got a bit nervous. The

fact that they cstraight here meant they probably knew something. “Where are they now?”

“They should be here any second.”

“What are you waiting for? Let's go to the entrance to welcthem,” Elysia said as she stood up, ready to

leave.

Then she told Yuna, “Do what | said about that thing. You can stay busy; you don’t have to cwithto

greet them.”

“Yes, Madam!” Yuna replied.

Just as they got to the entrance, a black car pulled up in front of the Arcanum House. Elysia quickly walked over

and opened the car door.

Jack got out, and she hid how she was really feeling, putting on a sweet smile. “Jack, what brings you here?” she

asked nicely. Jack didn’t say anything to her. Then the other two car doors opened, and Leo and Max got out.

Elysia hurried over, speaking softly, “Leo, Max.”

But Leo and Max just gave her a quick look and didn’t say a word.

Nicole opened the driver's door and got out, leaning one hand on the car. Elysia gave her a look, and Nicole just

shrugged, looking helpless.

“Okay, stop looking at Nicole. Get inside. We need to ask you something,” Jack said, sounding a bit serious.

Elysia had a bad feeling and obediently followed them into the Arcanum House.

In the main hall, Jack sat in the big chair at the head, and Leo and Max sat on either side. Nicole found a chair to

sit in too, but Elysia stood in the middle of the hall, like a kid about to get scolded.

Elysia started. “What's going on...”

Elysia had hardly finished speaking when Jack cleared his throat and asked, “Elysia, are you hiding something

from us?” Since Jack was so direct, Elysia couldn't deny it anymore. It seemed like they already knew about the

Rosewood family stuff.

Thinking of that, she shot a really angry look at Nicole standing next to her. She couldn't think of anyone else

who would have told them.

Feeling Elysia’s look, Nicole backed up a little. If she really made Elysia mad, she would ever have any peace.

Elysia would not go easy on her just because of old times.

Luckily, Jack stood up and said something fair, which made Nicole feel a bit safer. “Elysia, Nicole was worried

about you, that’s why she told us. You should thank her later, okay?”

Since Jack said so, Elysia had no choice but to do it. She told them everything that had happened lately and

added, “I'm sorry. | didn’t mean to hide it. | was just scared you'd worry, so | wanted to wait until everything was

over before telling you.”

Jack sighed, “Silly kid, do you think I don’t know what you're thinking? It's my fault. | always wanted you to go

back to your real parents and have a normal family life, instead of staying with us old folks.

“In a few years, when we're gone, you'd still have a home, so you wouldn't be alone. But | never thought Scott

would fake a paternity test and give you so much trouble. It's all my fault.”

Seeing Jack looking so guilty, Elysia quickly walked over and crouched down in front of him, taking his slightly

wrinkled hand. “Jack, you had good intentions. It was all my fault; it’s not your doing.”

Jack’s eyes got a bit teary. After all those years of traveling around, he wasn’t one to cry easily. But now, his nose

stung, and he couldn't stop the tears.

“Sweetheart, you're so thoughtful, but you keep everything to yourself, always scared to worry us. You're so

nice, but sometimes | wish you weren't so caring.”

“Jack...”

Leo and Max, being old themselves, couldn't hold back their tears either. “You little rascal, always making people

cry,” Leo said, acting all sad.

Max wiped away his tears and asked the question he was most worried about. “Does that mean the Evans family

is family?”

“Yes, Max. | found out by accident when | went to Jorlandia to treat Mrs. Evans.”

“Have you thought about going back to the Evans family?” Jack asked. As soon as he said that, both Leo and Max

looked at him.

Seeing that, Jack quickly added, “Elysia, this t| respect your choice. If you want to be part of their family, do

it. If not, we won't push you.”

Hearing this, Elysia smiled and said, “Once we deal with the Rosewood family’s problems, we can go back to

Silverstream.

“When we're there, | can climb trees to get bird eggs and fish in the river, and no one will bother us. That would

be awesome.”

“Alright, we'll do what you say,” Jack laughed.

Even though deep down Jack hoped Elysia could go back to her parents, the Rosewood family’s problems were

like a ticking tbomb in his heart, making him uneasy.

If he hadn't been so stubborn before, Elysia wouldn't have suffered so much.

This time, he wouldn't let her go through that again. Even if he wanted her to go back to her parents later, he

had to check out the Evans family really well to make sure everything was okay.

Leo and Max's eyes lit up. Just thinking about Elysia living with them made them really happy.

“Elysia, | can’t believe the Rosewood family dared to bully you like that. I'm gonna hack their interight now,”

Leo said.

“Just hack their internet? That's too easy on them!” Max scoffed.

Hearing this, Leo added, “Let's crash their whole company network too. How about that?”

“Now that’s more like it.” Max grinned, looking satisfied. “Here's the plan: Ill corner him tomorrow and give him

a good beating, so he won't dare mess with you again!”

Jack looked at Leo and Max and reminded them, “Make sure you really hit him hard.”
