business instead.”
Theda opened a file on her phone and said, “I know that Juan transferred all of his shares to you. Legally, you're
now the largest shareholder. But there's one problem: even though Juan’s 45% stake is the biggest, it’s not
enough to control the company. He was in charge before because he had the support of Melody, who has 10% of
the shares. Combined, the shares ensured his control. Melody could join forces with other shareholders and vote
you out. Then she could buy back your shares and render you irrelevant.”
Debra didn’t pick up the conversation. Instead, she asked, “Is Andrew refusing the medicine because he doesn’t
want to side with you?”
Theda was taken aback. “Looks like we aren’t on the spage.”
