Chapter 92: Mrs. Davis and the Pregnancy Checkup As he responded absentmindedly, his gaze wandered restlessly to the window, where the streetlights illuminated an empty scene. The servants' quarters, a modest building behind The King Manor and overshadowed by the grandeur of the European-style villas, were brightly lit.
"This is one of the better rooms," the butler assured Mrs. Davis. "Are you satisfied with it?" "It's perfect, thank you," she replied with gratitude.
"So modest, just a few square meters... How is this good?" he sighed.
Penelope chuckled, "I truly like it." She had dreamt of escaping Kelvin's presence, to sleep alone. Sharing a room with him meant even her breaths had to be cautious. Now, she relished her newfound freedom -drawing late into the night, sleeping until dawn, rolling around without restraint.
"You're too easily pleased," the butler remarked. "Mrs. Wright..." "She's Kelvin's current favorite. Don't oppose her on my account, it'll only make her target you." After the butler left, Penelope spun around in joy. Though Fiona moving into The King Manor was irksome, the trade-off for her sleeping freedom seemed worth it. After all, she never truly fit the role of Mrs. Davis. Her divorce was imminent, and with it, the emotional entanglements with Kelvin would end.

That night, Penelope had the most restful sleep since arriving at The King Manor- dreamless, until the break of dawn.
Stretching widely, she exclaimed, "Tto get up!" But stepping outside, she encountered Fiona.
With arms crossed, Fiona smirked, "Looks like you slept well last night." "Indeed, very well," Penelope replied.
"Typical of someone with lowly tastes. Can't get used to the luxury of the master bedroom, so you settle for a pigsty," Fiona taunted.
Penelope retorted, "You must be exhausted from all the scheming to get into The King Manor's master bed." "At least it's better than a pigsty!" "Seeing you so spirited, Kelvin didn't touch you last night?" Penelope probed. "Or did you not sleep together at all?" Fiona, hit where it hurt, retorted defensively, "We slept separately for safety!" "Safety? For the child?" "Exactly!" "If Kelvin isn't interested, no excuse will change that," Penelope shrugged. "When I was with him, he was always..." She trailed off, letting the implication hang. Fiona's face twisted with anger.
"You witch, what seductive tricks do you use to bewitch men?" "Want to know?" Penelope teased, beckoning with her finger. "Come, I'll teach you a surefire method!" Tempted by the prospect, Fiona leaned in eagerly to learn how to captivate Kelvin. But all she got was a disdainful "Pfft!" from Penelope.
"You dare mock me!" Fiona fumed.
"A man who truly likes you doesn't need tricks; he'll pursue you relentlessly," Penelope said nonchalantly. "Seems Kelvin isn't as smitten with you as you thought..." Kelvin had cclose to crossing the line with Penelope several times. Could he really resist Fiona, the woman he supposedly loved? A man who's harsh on himself is even harsher on others.

Penelope walked away, leaving Fiona seething. "Don't spout nonsense. Mr. Davis treatswell!" "Oh, congratulations then." "Fiona, what's with that attitude?" Fiona reached out to grab her, but Penelope dodged: "I have to work. I can't rely on a man like you. Don't waste my time." As they argued, Kelvin appeared, his gaze indifferent to the scene.
Fiona immediately complained, "Mr. Davis, Penelope just insulted me!" Penelope didn't bother to clarify. So what if she had? Kelvin, familiar with Penelope's sharp tongue, interjected, "Ignore her. I've booked you the best prenatal checkup in LA. We'll go together." Fiona paled at the news. She stammered, "I've just had a checkup, everything's fine... Do we need another so soon?" "This will be with top doctors, more authoritative." "I can go alone," Fiona insisted quickly. "You're busy." "I'll make time," Kelvin replied.
"But a full checkup takes all morning..." "I'm aware."

Happy reading! Fiona panicked but hid it, nodding, "Alright." She'd agree for now, unable to keep refusing without arousing suspicion. She needed to strategize with her father.
Once Kelvin and Penelope left for the office, Fiona hurried to the psychiatric hospital to see the director.
"Dad," she asked anxiously, "Mr. Davis arranged a pregnancy checkup.m What do do?" The director was also startled. "When is it?" "He didn't say, but it's inevitable! What do we do?" Fiona was terrified. If Kelvin discovered she wasn't pregnant, she'd lose everything.
"Calm down... Let's think," the director paced, searching for a solution.
Fiona was desperate. The fake pregnancy was meant to advance their relationship and suppress Penelope, not to trigger a sudden checkup by Kelvin's doctors, who'd easily uncover the truth. "We can't let Mr. Davis find out," Fiona cried. "Where can I get pregnant for real? Help me!" "I'm thinking, don't rush! You didn't give anything away, did you?" "No!" The director, deep in thought, eyed Fiona's belly and finally had an idea.
"I've got it!" "Tell me!" Fiona's eyes lit up. "It's all on you to pull this off!"
