Chapter 55 "I'll be out for a bit! Be right back." Aaron left Rosewood Gardens with his phone in hand, while Serena continued her meal, head lowered, as if nothing had transpired. Yet, when she reached for a napkin, her hand trembled slightly.

After finishing her meal, Serena retreated to her room. Despite not intending to pursue Aaron anymore, the sting of watching him run back to Cynthia Lynwood over and over, after seven years of love, was unavoidable.

She submerged herself in the bathtub, letting the warm water soothe her, drifting away from reality.

When she emerged from her bath, it was already eleven o'clock at night. The house was silent. Aaron hadn't returned, as expected.

Serena changed into her pajamas and lay down, scrolling through her phone as part of her nightly routine before sleep. But then- She saw a message from Cynthia Lynwood.

"Serena, don't get too comfortable. Even though Aaron made the Mitchell family go bankrupt for your sake, I'm still more important to him than you are." Serena had ignored countless messages from Cynthia in the past, never feeling compelled to respond. But tonight- "Isn't Maggie your friend? She went bankrupt, yet you seem completely unfazed." Cynthia seemed surprised by Serena's sudden reply, taking a moment before sending another message.

"She went bankrupt because of her own stupidity. What does it have to do with me?" Serena smirked. She wondered what expression Maggie would have upon seeing such words from her "best friend." Just as Serena was about to switch to another app, Cynthia's message cthrough again.

"[Image]" "Nice tie, right? I bought it for Aaron! Serena, isn't it clear by now? Aaron loves me. If you have any dignity, you should leave him." Serena's smile widened. So, it was Cynthia who gifted the tie. That explained it.

She replied, "I would love nothing more than to leave Aaron. If you can convince him to letleave Rosewood Gardens, I'd be truly grateful." Cynthia retorted, "Serena, do you even believe what you're saying?" Serena: ".

Cynthia quickly followed up with another message.

"By the way, isn't Bella your sister?" || A sense of foreboding crept over Serena. The next second, another image popped up-a screenshot of Bella's social media post. Bella was grinning widely, holding a gleaming Diamond Crown, with the caption: "Grandpa's choice is always the best."

Serena's blood pressure spiked instantly. She recognized the crown at once, even though the image was blurry. It It Goldens the gem-studded den Crown, the least valuable antique in her father's collection. But she had been managing the antiques for the past seven years, making it instantly recognizable. Aren't all of Dad's antiques supposed to be in the old president's villa? How did Bella get her hands on them? Steeling her nerves, Serena called Director Thomas. He sounded baffled but

reassured her, "Serena, I'm not sure what's going on, but don't worry. I'll go speak with the old president right away." "Alright," Serena replied, biting her lip.

It wasn't until after two in the morning that Director Thomas got back to her.

"Serena, I found out what happened.

As soon as your dad's antiques were moved today, your mom and Bella showed up, claiming they belonged to them and demanding the staff return the antiques."
