Chapter 52 "Can you explain towhy you're so kind to Cynthia Lynwood?" Frederick was utterly baffled.
Aaron stared into his vodka glass.
The light in the private room refracted off the glass, piercing Aaron's eyes and forcing him to close them briefly.
"Could it be that she's got something on you?" Frederick speculated, seeing no other possibility.
Aaron rubbed his temples. "That's my personal business, and I don't want to talk about it." Frederick was left speechless.
He shifted the conversation back to Serena.

Early the next morning, Serena contacted the logistics company and forwarded Director Thomas's information. After completing the tedious electronic forms, she finally received confirmation.
"Everything's set, Miss Sullivan. When Mr. Thomas arrives, we'll have a courier deliver the package." "Great, thank you." Serena hung up and glanced out the second-floor window.
Seeing that Aaron's Rolls Royce wasn't in sight, she felt relieved enough to head downstairs.
However, as she descended, she found Aaron seated at the dining table.
Dressed in a suit, his crisp white shirt complemented by a casually knotted sky- blue tie, Aaron looked almost ethereal in the morning light streaming through the window.
Serena couldn't take her eyes off that tie.
It was the one she had given Aaron three years ago for his birthday. At the time, he had disdainfully tossed it onto the couch, leaving her quite hurt.
After the birthday party, when she tried to retrieve it, the tie was nowhere to be found.
Where had Aaron found it? "Chave breakfast." Aaron's tone was unusually gentle today, blending with the warmth of the sunlight outside.
Despite her reluctance, Serena found herself moving toward the dining room. After all, her stomach was growling. Normally, she would have finished breakfast by now.
Serena sat at the farthest end of the table.
Olivia promptly served her breakfast with a smile.
Serena accepted it with composure, but her gaze kept darting back to Aaron's tie.

If Aaron was calling it nice, it couldn't possibly be the one she had given him Nothing," she murmured.
She took a bite of her toast, but the bitterness in her throat made even the cher's masterpiece taste bland. Losing her appetite, Serena pushed the plate away and stood to leave.
Aaron frowned. "Finished already?" "Yeah," Serena replied dismissively, heading back upstairs.
Aaron stopped her. "Next Friday night, the company is having a m celebration. I want you to accompany me." His commanding tone only made Serena's stomach churn more.
Turning back to face him, she replied coldly, "Aaron, I'm not obligated to attend your celebration."
