Chapter 191 The chill of his fingertips against Serena's flushed skin brought a momentary clarity to her foggy mind.
"Let go..." she struggled to say, her voice barely a whisper.
"It's me." The deep, familiar voice resonated instantly-Aaron.
In the next heartbeat, she was pulled into an office by Aaron.
In one corner of the room, a sink stood waiting. Serena stumbled over to it like a parched wanderer finding an oasis, twisting the faucet open with urgency.
Cold water cascaded over her face, trickling down her skin, quenching the heat that had been consuming her from within, offering a brief respite.

The water's cooling touch was fleeting, leaving behind a persistent warmth. Desperate, Serena pressed her face under the stream, soaking it up like a tree desperate for rain.
Aaron drew the curtains, casting the room into a dim light. He turned to see Serena, water streaming down her flushed cheeks, soaking her shirt and clinging to her form, outlining her curves in a way that stirred his imagination.
He leaned casually against the wall, squinting slightly, "Need a hand?" Serena opened her eyes, water misting around her.
She gritted her teeth, glaring at Aaron, a shiver running through her. The cold water could soothe her skin, but it couldn't reach the fire within.
Even as her body felt like it was about to explode, she refused to give in. "Get out..." Aaron approached, towering over her.
Serena lowered her head, exposing the pale curve of her neck.
"You know very well-" he withdrew his gaze, looping his arm around her waist, "you've been drugged. There's only one way to fix this." Her drenched body was pressed against Aaron's chest, the heat within her subsiding slightly.
She bit her lip, her ears turning crimson, but she was determined not to yield. "I don't need it!" "Oh, but you do," Aaron murmured, his lips brushing against her ear, his voice a soft lure. "Serena, just ask me, and it'll all be over." Serena shivered, his rough fingertips tracing down her shoulder like an electric current, sending another shiver through her.
The cold water and the heat from her body intertwined, like being plunged into an icy ocean and then into boiling water.
Her senses were torn apart.
Her vision blurred, her body weakened, unable to hold firm.
"Pretty sure she cthis way. Saw Serena heading here earlier," Joy's voice suddenly echoed from the hallway outside.
Serena snapped back to awareness, shoving Aaron away.

"Are you sure it's here?" Samuel's voice inquired.
"Positive."
"But all these rooms are offices.
What's Serena doing here?"Rock's voice added to the mix.
"No idea. Maybe visiting a mentor?" Joy's footsteps halted at the dobras she pondered aloud, "I recall seeing Serena enter one of these offices-" She knocked on the door.
Inside, silence reigned.
"Guess it's not this one," Samuel concluded, frowning. "Serena m emed unwell earlier. Why would she chere? We should probably..."
